I found Ariana today waiting for the N line. She looks cute in the black sheer shirt and dress with the drawstring. I like how she accessorize the headband with the drawstring dress and t-strap shoes. Nicely done Ariana!

Neil Barrett Plus

I'm getting more impressed with Neil Barrett's work. His work reminds me of Helmut Lang in a way, minimalism with an added design to make it interesting. He doesn't cut for ultra skinny guys so Joe Average can fit into it. I can already hear Alva Noto's electronic musique playing on the runway.

I went to Japan/Korea town today. Stopped by Kinokuniya Bookstore, found some cool design books. The black outfit is from Yohji Yamamoto for women and Neil Barrett's vest has a bondage effect is very cool.

The sexist man alive! I would love to see him do ads for a hot designer.

Financial District

Today I met Sonia. She's wearing a polka dotted jacket and black skirt. I like how she coordinated the jacket with the black skirt. She went further by wearing fishnet stockings which looks great!

Sergio is looking great in a crisp grey tropical weight suit with a striped shirt in the heat. I like how he coordinated his blue shirt and checkerboard necktie is done well. Looking good Sergio!

Summertime Linen

I am a wimp when there's a heat wave! But there's also a material to the rescue called linen. The linen I'm fond of is the Italian linen because it's lighter weight vs. Irish Linen that's heavier. The flow is graceful when you see a man or a woman wearing linen, reminds of hot days and old movie locations in the desert. 

I would love it if more American men wore shoes without socks like this example. Actually the comfort is pretty good if you wear suede or rubber sole shoes. 

Union Square Deux

I went to MOMA to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit but the line was too long so I decided to see what I can find in Union Square.

Yuichi is wearing Emporio Armani. I rarely go in there and today I was curious to see his line. I like the contrast grey vest with black. I wish I could have that kind of closet space behind him.

Alfonso is wearing a black suit with a black patterned scarf that really did the trick.

Seoul Korea

I like this dress for summer. The neckline is nice, the lines of the dress is simple and clean. She did good on the shoes too. I think she could have done better on the bag though. 

Yohji Yamamoto

As some of you know I LOVE Yohji Yamamoto's work. When I saw this suit on ebay my mouth dropped to the floor. Unfortunately I got outbidded, some actor in New York got the suit. For some reason I kept the pics, maybe one day it'll resurface...crossing fingers! In the meantime I'll keep finding new pieces to collect.

Hayes Valley

I met Pamela today in Hayes Valley as I was heading to Patxi's pizzeria. She looks good in her empire waist summer dress. Her sandal wedgies look perfect with the dress.

Union Square

Union Square is like Christmas during sale time in the summer. From NM, Saks to Barneys. They're all marking things down so if your looking for something special, this is the time!

I bumped into elegant Cathy at NM shoe salon, she looks casual elegant in her black top with white cropped pants and heels. She looks great!

Handsome Simon is wearing a bespoke double breasted pinstripe made in Thailand, that looks very Dolce & Gabbana to me. His amazing shoes are custom made crocodile. Nice job Simon!

Cute Mike has that uber urban look. Ready to hit the streets instantly. The vest is a nice touch!

Tokio Kumagai avec Foullard

I'm so excited today, I found a pair of socks I have looking for a long time. I  bought these Tokio Kumagai socks in Harajuku. I love them for the design. This was a time when I was with my boyfriend James and we would travel throughout Japan from Tokyo to Nagasaki, good memories of cabs with automatic door openers to shopping in Shibuya. One day I want to visit Tokyo and Seoul but I gotta get Europe out of system first. Speaking of Europe, I am finally embracing colour now; I took a pic of my scarves and I'm enjoying seeing the colour scale.  I do love the way the French uses the foullard (scarf), so much of the part of their culture. Although I can't seem to find a big scarves, hard to find here in the U.S. If you know where I can find large scarves, let me know.

Paris is Burning!

Paris Fashion Week is going full speed ahead. Two designers I appreciate is Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquiere and Hussein Chalayan. I feel both designers think ahead in design and in technology. You never know what you'll get with the both of them every season, becomes a guessing game for most. When the collection is hot, they're burning hot!

Men in Jackets

On my way home I ran into Mark and Jose. They look like they're going out on the town. Mark is wearing a cool gray jacket with a sheen to it, has a sharkskin effect, the borders of the label really do the trick in design. Jose is wearing a nice black jacket but this shirt is really cool with the embroidery on it, creating a nice balance. Nice guys!
