Miguel and Gabriel own Sui Generis on Market Street near Noe. In Latin Sui Generis means "One of a kind", and one of a kind it is. Specializing in menswear since October 21, 2006 on Church Street to their new location on Market Street.
Originally they started a flea market business in Mexico and when they moved to San Francisco, they wanted a consignment store that would be easier to run than a full retail store. I asked them who are their clients? They said the man that wants quality but they don't want to pay full price, the collector that wants a one of a kind piece and the man that's looking for a quick weekend wardrobe. "Currently we're selling a lot of dress shoes, fitted fun dress shirts, accessories and scarves." Miguel said. One of their goals is to have more consignment stores in the city but keeping the intimate or boutique feel.
Sui Generis carries beautiful suits to fun graphic tees, hot designers like Prada, D&G, G-Star, and John Varvatos just to name a few. If you're looking for something special but you don't want to break the bank, check out Sui Generis, it's worth a trip!
