Happy New Year!

2008 was definitely a time of change. Changing in relationships, work, economy--life. A time of healing, growing, supporting, embracing, and moving on to more experiences. As I reflect this year it was hard at times but we make it through. This year was the year when I started my fashion blog and I have to thank everyone that participated in this so I hope to see you again for more fashion ideas. Happy New Year, Bonne Annee!!

Finn

I wasn't carrying my camera today so I had my emergency iPhone handy. Finn on Hayes Street is a very unique store full of wonderful designs for women from northern Europe. Jeanne (pro: Yeanee) is wearing a cool jacket with multiple outside seams and full pants with wrinkles---perfect look.

Matsuda

This Matsuda sweater is awesome! I love the tails treatment in design.

What's In The Bag?

Urban life, carrying a bag is so common for men and women these days. For ease, we carry cell phones, glasses, sunglasses, iPod, camera, cosmetics, gum, mints, change, and the list goes on....

Leather Blazer

George is visiting from New York City. Blazers especially in leather is always a good choice. I like the fact that you can go dressy or casual in a leather blazer.

Cop Copine

I met Anja (pron: Anya), a Dutch designer on Mission Street. I instantly noticed her pants how they're wrinkled from the knee on down so I complimented her on her pants and as we were talking I really enjoyed seeing her full style from head to toe.

Knit Hat

I like these knit hats worn with a Tibetan quilted jacket and a big boiled wool scarf would be fun.

Hermes

In the Hermes boutique has a lovely pair of black booties in the window...very nice in design by JPG. Today the shoe really make the statement replacing the bag, which I think is pretty hot, sexy and playful!

Reunion Show At Roe

I was impressed with some of the local designers at Roe. The menswear was eye-catching, interesting fabrics, hint of the 80's at times. The womenswear was fun, from deconstructed outfits to granite raincoats to goth theme dresses with contrast stitches.

Those Shoes!

Kim looks great in her black dress with her short leather jacket...and those shoes!

Matsuda Deux

Amazing sweater by Matsuda with the loose yarns...lovely. Moreso to see his collection from the late 80's revive today with Rodarte and so many other designers. He was so ahead of his time.

Matsuda

Rodarte meets Matsuda, look at the loose yarn on the sleeves!

Dolce & Gabbana

Speaking of sweaters, I like this sweater by Dolce & Gabbana. There's something homemade about this sweater, the patchwork and necklines looks very cozy to me.

Cashmere

I came down with a nasty cold so bear with me....

I love cashmere, new, old, recycle, vintage, whatever. In winter or year around, cashmere is something you'll wear forever. From sweaters to scarves, you can't go wrong with cashmere and I love the low maintenance too.

Women's Wear Spring '09

From the collection scene, the favorites that I feel I really like. Rodarte is modern, has a very Euro flair. Marni is more daring with patterns and colours verses Prada. Giambattista Valli reminds me of modern old French couture. Balenciaga always surprises me with his modern designs.

Men's Wear Spring '09

I've been looking at the Spring '09 collections for men. I feel we're going through a new wave of the 80's again, as you can see. I love the 80's in concept for menswear, definitely more daring to take chances since menswear is limiting.

From top to bottom: Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garcons, Jil Sander, Thom Browne.
